Subject	message locking, what is the deal

Message	Did search and faq with no luck. Messages seem to get locked fast around here. I log on maybe once a week now a days, but can't reply to a message that is 2 days old because its locked. So how does this work now? Why can't we leave postings open for a week, atleast?
